Sandy Hook, Kentucky, a small rural community in eastern Kentucky, is situated on a bend of the Little Sandy River and serves as the county seat of Elliott County. The town has a notable connection to country music, being the hometown of the late country music singer Keith Whitley. A statue of Whitley playing his guitar can be seen in the local cemetery, and a local street was renamed "Keith Whitley Boulevard" in his honor.
Thirteen songs in our collection mention Sandy Hook, and three artists call it home. Among these are Keith Whitley, known for songs like "When You Say Nothing at All," and Leah Blevins, both country artists. The Americana group Moonlight Mile also hails from Sandy Hook.
